First
Christian Church in Huntington Beach contracted A-VIDD Electronics
Company in Long Beach to complete a very high end video system to
supply local programming for Huntington Beach Cable Channel 3.
The planning for the system started late 2004 and the goal was to
have a completion date of Easter 2005. A-VIDD archived the deadline
allowing two weeks to burn in the system.
A system comprised of 3 Hitachi SDI cameras with robotic camera control
was installed in the main sanctuary. The control room is 100% tapeless.
All recording is to disc or DVD. The main control room feeds
4 other venues. The standard overflow venues and one venue 3 miles
across town. The remote location is feed an SDI level video
signal via two T1 lines at 3Mb bandwidth. An amazing piece of equipment
called the “Streambox” does an incredible job of squeezing
the SDI signal down to a 3MB stream. At the receiving end the
signal is recorded to disc and delayed for playback until after a
live worship service. At the conclusion of the live music the worship
leader simply announces that …..”now we go live to our
mother church in Huntington Beach and join Pastor Bruce Templeton….”
The signal is projected on to a 12 foot screen and the image
looks pristine. |
